Tip Tuesday! Belt Hanger

I saw this idea over a year ago at The Children's Nest, and have been meaning to make one ever sense. My husband always put his belts on top of his sock drawer, which drove me crazy, so this was a perfect solution to give belts there own space. The little hooks are so strong and I got the plastic coated ones so they don't slip off hanging in the closet. I am so glad I finally got around to making this one. :)

Summer To Do List.... Printable!

I've had a few requests for a printable of my Summer To Do List, which is awesome, I am so glad some of you liked it. :) Anyways, this was my first time trying to figure out how to share something. I think I figured it out, hopefully it works ok here. If you have Microsoft Works and want a copy, let me know and I can e-mail it to you. Else, just print, cut apart, and you are good to go!

I added a few activities that my girls are to young for, like bowling, etc. that you may want to use. Enjoy!

Tip Tuesday! Summer Snack!

It is definitely Summer now, so to beat the heat, we decided to make these fun Vanilla Wafer Ice Cream Sandwiches we saw over at Random Thoughts of a Supermom! Molly thought we had to use the bigger sprinkles since they had "pink" in them! They were very fun, and tasted great!

Anyone have any other fun summer treats to make?

Sew Something Saturday! Silverware Bag!

So I always seem to need silverware for Molly when it's not convenient to find any. A lot of times as a reward for being good in the store I'll let her get a yogurt to eat, but of course I am always scrambling to find a spoon... That brought on this ingenious(or so I think, lol) idea! I made a little drawstring bag to put plastic silverware in, so I could easily carry it in my purse. :)

I used this tutorial from happythings, to make an easy drawstring bag. I just made mine long and skinny for the silverware to fit in. If you follow my blog, you probably also notice it is the same fabric as this apron, got to love leftover fabric. :) This is a really quick and easy project, there are so many great uses for a little drawstring bag. Father's Day Craft!

For Father's Day I had the girls make coasters for Randal. I think they turned out really cute. (Molly's name got added before the 2nd coat of sealer.) I basically made the coasters the same as I did here, but instead of mod podge with paper, I used paint and the girls hand prints. Then I sprayed them with sealer so they can get wet when used as coasters, and then hot glued cork onto the backs. I got the great idea for Best Dad, Hands Down from Learning As We Grow.

Nora's hand print was definitely a challenge to get. Nobody told my 4 month old they are supposed to hold there hand still and not make a fist, hehe.

Molly picked out the paint and even helped but the cork on the back. She is SO excited to give this to Randal, hopefully she can hold off until Sunday.

Tip Tuesday! 4th of July Flip Flops

I was so excited with how these flip flops for Molly turned out, and I always think it is so cute when she crosses her legs like that, :). I got her blue flip flops at Target for 2/$5, and the ribbon I cut off a hair band I got out of the $1 section. I can't wait for her have them to wear on the Fourth of July. (and I had to add the red toes with her new Piggy Paint, our favorite non-toxic, natural nail polish) I saw this great idea over at The McIllece Spot.

Not Me Monday!

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

This week I most certainly did not let my 2 year old drink Sunny D in place of OJ, knowing that even though it is 100% vitamin C, it is only 5% juice. I would never let her drink that.

And I definitely didn't put my 4 month old in her bounce seat in the living room while her sister watched a DVD so I could make lunch, I know better than to ever let a baby watch TV.

I also did not leave all the laundry unfolded this week, so I could reread Eclipse before the movie comes out. I always fold the laundry after the girls are in bed, and would never let us live out of a pile on the floor all week.

This is my first week joining the "Not Me" fun, head over to read other fun things we "Didn't Do" over at My Charming Kids.

Ruffle Camera Strap - "Create With Me" Project

For the June "Create With Me" Project over at UCreate, they are making a Ruffle Camera Strap using Char's tutorial. I have been eying this great tutorial for awhile but was to nervous to try to use fusible interfacing again (for some reason, I always do the opposite of what I should and ruin my iron, my 2nd iron, and my ironing board cover...). So, when I saw this, I knew it was time to face my fear (hehe) and make myself a super cute camera strap!

If you want to make one of your own, it's not to late to join the fun over at UCreate, the "Create With Me" June project runs through the end of the month. If you sew one, send a picture over there and she will display them on her great blog.

Happy Sewing!

Dancing Feet! stART Project

This week for our stART project we read the book Dancing Feet! by Lindsey Craig. It's a really cute book and Molly loved the question and answer from page to page.

For our art project we decided to use our own "Dancing Feet" and paint using our feet.

I put washable paint on paper plates, and had Molly step in the paint and then walk across the paper. Of course, she LOVED this, since it involved painting and being messy. :)

Ta Da! Molly's dancing feet made a fun painting!

Summer To Do List - Tip Tuesday

Molly and I have been working on coming up with ideas and activities to do this summer. We got a pretty good list together, but I wasn't exactly sure how to display them. At first I thought we would draw them out of a jar or something, but then I saw this GREAT idea over at find Joy in the journey, she put them on her refrigerator!

I typed up the list, and added pictures for each one so that Molly could use them too. I glued them to colored card stock, cut and laminated them. Then I found my role of magnet and added them to the backs of each and put them on the fridge. Love it!

After we complete each activity, we are going to put the cards in a basket to use for next year. I think it will be really easy to add new ideas to the fridge whenever we think of something.

What are your family's Summer ideas???

Felt Card Table House!

So excited to show the Felt Card Table House I made this week. It was such a FUN sewing project, and only took a few days.
I love sewing with felt.

Here's a picture of it without the cat paw reaching underneath.

Molly is loving it.

Front Doorway!

Complete with Mailbox!

That opens with a pocket to put mail!

Dog House for Molly's stuffed dogs to go in!

Or should I have made it a cat house???

Complete with bones to play with!

Clothesline to hang her doll clothes on!

And a window with changeable flowers. The flowers are Velcroed on, so she can change which ones go in the window box!

I followed the felt along tutorial over at Fireflies and Jellybeans to help make this fun house, with lots of inspiration from Crafty Chic Mommy. Thanks Ladies!

Happy Sewing!
